Carbon Lite Solutions Ltd. specialise in the production of environmentally conscious and sustainable timber-frame homes from certified sources in Nordic countries. All our homes are built to "Passive Standards", i.e. no heating is required for space heating.
The background to our activities in building low energy, low cost housing is that the Government has announced a target of 1 million new “social” homes to be built by 2020, with 750,000 to be completed by 2016.
It is currently mandatory for all new social homes to be measured against categories of sustainability and to be zero-carbon from 2016.
The government has committed via the Housing Corporation an initial budget of £8.4bn until 2011 for the development of new green social housing. Therefore our main emphasis is on energy-efficient/passive house dwellings at competitive construction cost.
Our passive houses are built with simple, natural materials combined with the latest modern components. The patented foundation consists of highly insulated concrete along with under-floor heating. The shell of the house is heavily insulated and the components of water saving taps, direct-pressure water heater, ventilation heat-recovery system and timber floors are included.
Our homes are typically designed from the inside out to provide the best use of space and support modern living cultures alongside the criteria for a “home for life”. However some level of personalization is possible with each home.
